Casa El Nogal is a country house with more than 100 years old. Located in the Valley of La Orotava, in the Natural Reserve of Pinolere.
The last modification of the house was done in the year 2000, always respecting the noble materials, such as the stone and the mulberry wood that provides to this place this simple charm and beauty that is greatly characterised by. The land of the house consists of 1200 m2, a part from the house it also includes a traditional kitchen garden in which we grow fruit and vegetables you will taste when you visit us.
The jewel of the house is our “straw loft”, which is an example of the popular domestic architecture with a great ethnographic value This type of buildings are protected and are characteristic of this region.
During decades this was the family country house, where we have lived some of our most cherished memories. A few years ago, we decided to share this house with travellers from all around the world so they can enjoy the simple, the natural and the real.

THE ENVIRONMENT
El valle de La Orotava, history and nature
La Orotava is one of the most emblematic places in Tenerife. Teide National Park and La Villa de La Orotava, whose old town has been declared a site of National Artistic and Historical interest in 1976 and it is included in the protection inventory of the European cultural heritage as a monumental site, both places are located in this municipality,
The house is located in the halfway point of the valley of La Orotava where trails of different levels can be found and you can practise a great variety of outdoor sports, like cycling or hiking.
Only a few minutes from the house, in the same municipality, there are beaches of black sand, without any doubt you will be impressed of the black colour of the sand in contrast with the intense blue of the sea and the vivid green of the plants of the surroundings.
Last but not least, you can’t visit the north of the island of Tenerife without enjoying our wines and our delicious cuisine. You must go to the guachinches and discover the popular food.
